Lisa's Story.
Motor vehicle accidents can happen without warning, and through no fault of your own. If you’ve been injured in an accident, it makes sense to understand what compensation is available to you and how to make sure you get your full entitlements. Lisa’s story is a typical example from the many thousands of successful road accident injury claims we’ve made.
Lisa was sitting at a set of traffic lights on her way home from the gym when the car behind her failed to stop and slammed into the back of her car. Because it was travelling at considerable speed it left Lisa with serious neck and back injuries. Lisa initially managed to claim some compensation herself through the insurer, but when the insurer stopped payments for ongoing treatment she turned to Law Partners.
Getting to know Lisa and her family
Before the accident, Lisa was fulfilling her dream to start a new career in graphic design, having recently completed three years of part-time study. She was optimistic and excited for the future. But as we got to know her better, we could see that the accident had severely impacted Lisa’s life. She went from being an active mum who enjoyed training at the gym and cycling to someone who suffered severe pain within minutes of trying to do anything active. Lisa had to decline her design agency job offer and was suffering from anxiety and depression.
Lisa’s successful claim
We established through comprehensive medical reports that Lisa was still in need of treatment and support, and we successfully claimed past and future treatment expenses and lost income for Lisa. We also discovered that Lisa had always taken great pride in doing her own renovations and home maintenance, but now she needed a lot of outside help even with the most basic housework. So we claimed compensation for domestic assistance. Lisa’s recovery is ongoing, but the financial burden has been lifted from her shoulders, so she can focus on her rehabilitation and getting her life back on track.
