Get startedNo matter what mental health injury you’re dealing with, we’re here to help you claim your full compensation entitlements.
The amount you can claim for your stress-related condition depends on your whole person impairment (WPI) assessment. Here’s a summary of entitlements:
Workers Compensation Payment NSW: | |
---|---|
Weekly payments | These are payments to compensate you for lost income while you’re off work. |
Medical expenses | Payment of your medical, hospital, ambulance, rehabilitation (including home help) and travel expenses. |
Permanent impairment payout | A lump sum compensation payout to cover permanent impairment as a result of work-related injury or illness. |
Work Injury Damages payout | Also known as common law claim, this is a lump sum payout for damages if your injury was caused by your employer’s negligence. |
To qualify for a permanent impairment lump sum for a psychological injury, you’ll need to be assessed as having a WPI of 15% or more. Our specialist workers compensation lawyers can make sure your assessment is done correctly and that you receive your full entitlements, including any lump sums you’re eligible for.
Here are four ways our workers compensation lawyers can get more compensation for your psychological illness:

If you find yourself in a dispute with an insurer, having a lawyer on your side will give you a much better chance of success.
After your claim is submitted by your employer, the insurer has 14 days to notify you whether:
If your claim is accepted, you should start receiving payments straight away.
If your mental health-related claim is denied, there are options open to you to dispute the decision. The insurer that has denied your claim must notify you in writing of their reasons for the denial and provide information on the next steps available to you.
Here are some examples of common disputes:
On 1 March 2021, the Personal Injury Commission (PIC) became the central body for resolving all workers compensation disputes.
