About the Role:

Are you detail-oriented with a knack for numbers? We’re seeking a Payroll Officer to ensure our employees are paid accurately and on time. You’ll manage payroll for 200+ employees, handle deductions, and stay on top of compliance. Collaborate closely with our HR team and provide stellar service to our staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing: Handle fortnightly payroll, calculate wages, tax withholdings, and other deductions for 200+ employees.
Ad Hoc Payments: Process ad hoc payroll, terminations, PAYG, child support, and superannuation payments.
Record Maintenance: Update employee payroll records and manage timesheets, attendance, and leave.
Employee Support: Address payroll-related inquiries and issues.
Compliance: Ensure payroll processes comply with all regulations and update practices as needed.
Financial Coordination: Prepare payroll journals, tax submissions, and assist with financial statements and budgets.
Leave Management: Implement a Leave Management System firm-wide.
Admin Tasks: Assist the accounts team with banking and other administrative duties.

What You Need:

TAFE Certificate IV or higher in accounting, payroll administration, or similar.

Experience with maximum superannuation contribution base.

This is a fabulous opportunity for an approachable and customer service focused first year law students who enjoy working as part of a fast-paced, professional team.

Flexibility is the key to this role as the work will be varied and will require you to work in our City office on occasion.

Must be able to work Monday, Thursday & Friday

Responsibilities will include:

Attend to and coordinate reception including meet and greet clients, attend to needs including refreshments.
Oversee and manage meeting room bookings.
Attend to switchboard, including taking messages in an accurate and efficient manner.
Arrange catering with local suppliers for meetings and events.
Collect, distribute and manage incoming and outgoing mail, couriers and deliveries.
Attend to outside duties including delivery of briefs to barristers, court photocopying and attending Australia Post.
Administrator multiple inboxes including distributing correspondence.
Attend to file registrations as per firm processes
Administrator bookings for serviced offices and meeting rooms.
Maintain the supplies of the office including stationery, paper, kitchen suppliers. Ensure minimum stock levels are maintained and photocopiers and printers are restocked.
Assist with the creation of new client packs.
Assist with general overflow of work e.g. high volume of photocopying and filing as directed.
Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of all office areas including kitchen, print area and meeting areas.
Undertake archiving and ensure the prompt closure of matters in accordance with the firm policies and procedures.

To be considered for the role you MUST have:

Currently in your first year of a law degree
