Martin Jose Prieto Cardone
Solicitor
I aim to approach every situation with kindness and empathy. The legal industry is rife with deadlines and timelines, which can be overwhelming for clients who are already dealing with very stressful circumstances. Finding the time to stop and listen with empathy and kindness makes a positive difference.
I appreciate the personal aspect of personal injury law, something which isn’t a given in other areas of the law. Getting to know who the client is as a person and how the issues they’re facing are affecting their lives is an important part of understanding the whole situation. To then be able to help them through that period is immensely rewarding.
Career highlight:
Having participated in litigations with wide impact for a broad range of clients has been my career highlight. A particular standout was working on a case in Chile’s Santiago Court of Appeal which allowed doctors to work in public and private sectors, instead of only public. This made a huge difference to many foreign doctors who had already studied hard and qualified to practice but were unfairly restricted to working only in the public healthcare system.
In my own time:
I am an avid reader and art enthusiast. I also like to cook, run, and I have a passion for birds.
Qualifications and accreditations:
- Diploma in Law (LPAB)
- Master of Arts (Publishing)
- Bachelor of Laws (Completed in Chile)
