Maria Aravena
Managing Solicitor
Through all my communications with clients, I do everything in my power to explain things in a way they will understand so they’re comfortable with the progression of their claims.
I chose to work in personal injury law because I felt this was the area of law I could make the biggest difference to people’s lives. Clients come to us for help in what is often one of the most traumatic period of their lives, and there’s no greater satisfaction than to be able to fight for them and help them receive all the compensation they’re entitled to.
I have acted for people who have lost their child or have a very disabled child or loved one as a result medical negligence, people who have themselves been left unable to work, provide for their families and care for themselves. Listening to my clients’ stories and witnessing their bravery to want get their lives back on track, is what drives me to be the best legal professional I can be every day.
Career highlight:
I would have to say achieving a $15 million settlement for a child born with Cerebral Palsy that was unfortunately caused by medical negligence.
In my own time:
Spending time with family. I have a little girl who now takes up most of my spare time, but I also try to continue doing the weekend disability support work I have done for several years now, whenever I can.
