I’m deeply dedicated to both my clients and my team. My clients’ stories are never ‘just business’, they’re personal to me. I’m driven to ensure every client gets the best possible outcome and the best possible service along the way.

I didn’t initially set out to become a lawyer, but I’ve always had a strong aversion to injustice. As a child my favourite treat was a Bubble O’Bill ice cream, so when I opened two in a row that were missing the iconic bubblegum nose, my aggrieved 7-year-old self wrote to Streets Ice Cream to express my disappointment. Weeks later, I received a $2.20 cheque in response. I never banked it, and I still have the cheque today. The recognition and accountability meant more to me than anything else.

Of course, two missing pieces of bubblegum pale in comparison to the harm suffered by those I now represent. For over a decade, I’ve worked across all areas of personal injury law, committed to seeking justice for the injured, ill and wronged. In the past six years, I’ve focused exclusively on supporting survivors of abuse, bringing a trauma-informed, transparent, and empathetic approach to every case.

I approach every client’s case with the same level of preparation and commitment as if it were going all the way to trial. We’re always ready and willing to stand before a judge if necessary. However, because of the thorough and strategic way we prepare the evidence, there is often a strong opportunity to resolve the matter before it reaches court, providing my clients with greater certainty, peace of mind, and the best possible chance of achieving a successful outcome.

Career highlight:

The advocate in me reminisces on the media interviews I’ve had the privilege of participating in to help invoke change. In particular, standing shoulder to shoulder supporting a very brave survivor of abuse who wanted his story shared and his face revealed on national TV following the conviction and sentencing of his perpetrator.

The keen lawyer in me recalls the 7-day NSW Court of Appeal trial involving child abuse at a day care centre – it’s rare for an appeal to run for that long.

The leader in me thinks of those I’ve mentored – celebrating the positive impact they’re having on their clients and on the profession. Nothing brings a smile more swiftly to my face than helping and hearing others succeed.

In my own time:

Apart from family-time, I’ve always loved wake boarding over summer and snowboarding in winter. I’m looking forward to teaching this to my two young children! I also delight in reading; I’m an embarrassingly enormous sci-fi and fantasy fan.
