Carmen Maatouk

I pursued a career in law as it combines my passions for debating and problem solving with the goal of helping the people in my community. Personal injury law especially interests me, giving me the opportunity to support those in their greatest time of need. I’m driven by the opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives by securing the compensation and justice they deserve.

I believe a little compassion and understanding goes a long way in supporting my clients. I like to consider if they were my family, and ask myself how I’d want them to be treated. I communicate clearly and effectively with clients, so they never feel like they’re being left in the dark. I always aim to act as an advocate for my clients throughout their claim, working to achieve a positive result and ease their suffering where I can.

Career highlight:

My career highlight was being admitted to the Supreme Court as a Solicitor. It was a proud moment to have my parents witness this, as it was the culmination of their sacrifices in migrating to Australia. It was not only my success, but theirs as well.

In my own time:

My passion outside of work is volunteering as a Youth Leader at my local Maronite Church. I’ve always loved volunteering and raising money for charity. I’m also experimental in the kitchen and enjoy trying new dessert recipes!
